Can't see it having a detrimental effect on a male's temperament .
I've got quite a few and never noticed any changes at all .

Males of all types of snakes are prone to stop eating for a couple of months at breeding season even if there are no females in the building ..

Try and buy from a breeder rather than a reptile store and make certain it's a good feeder / eater .
