    Help please!

I'm a first time snake owner and I'm concerned about my little guy. He has one hide that he will go to regardless of what side of the tank it's on (hot/cool) and stay there. I'm concerned he's not thermoregulating properly. What should I do?

Are you using multiple hides and are the hides identical?

Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

He has two hides one on each side of the tank and no they aren't identical. I've tried finding another like the one he prefers but I can't. I purchased the tank set up already put together.

He feels more safe and secure in the hide he is choosing. Best thing would be to order some hides from Reptile Basic that are the same size. Depending on your BP size I've found the medium hide worked the best. The large was a bit to big so I had to take that out.

I would either buy two that are similar to the ones you have so that they're identical or contact the company you got the set-up from. They will probably be happy to ship you another one like the one he prefers.

Reptile Basics hides are the only ones I will use. They are awesome. Sturdy, easy to clean and the snakes seem to really like them.
