Re: Kissing a Rattler: Good Idea or Bad Idea?
And yet these people get more column inches in the media than the thousands of people who safely keep and nurture these snakes every day without incident.

Re: Kissing a Rattler: Good Idea or Bad Idea?
As a reptile nation of keepers we need to stress the importance of education in schools, expos, pet shops, and in the media of all snakes. Venomous and non venomous alike. Especially venomous and the handling, safety, and reintroduction to the wild of newly caught or encountered animals. A alligator recently was spotted in a duck pond in New Jersey! We need people who respect these animals and are responsible about the care and transportation to safe refuges for these animals, including unwanted pets that outgrow our means and capacities to care for them. Otherwise we are headed for disaster as responsible keepers.
Stay in peace and not pieces.
