How To Convince My Family!
I really want to get a male spider ball python but my family does not like reptiles. I haven't asked yet but the last time I asked for a leopard gecko my parents completely freaked out. It's not that money is a problem and I already have 5 fish tanks but my mam hates anything with scales. I really would love to get a snake and I have been researching proper care for a while now and this is my last hurtle to jump. Any ideas?

Maybe try to find a place where they can see reptiles in person and friendly interaction with them like going to a reptile show? They will see that many people are interested in them and be able to touch them or see people touching them, see that they have beautiful colors and are not ugly or slimy or whatever they might mistakenly think, ask questions about them, etc...
I took my six year old son to a reptile show here not knowing how he would react and by the end he was willing to pet several snakes and seemed to enjoy it overall.

Be like "this is the last one I'm gonna get" OR "I will give up one or two fish tanks for it"

Graduate, get a job, move out, buy snakes.

It's either they agree or they don't and if they don't there is no convincing.
Before you commit to something for the next 30 years of your life, grow up, graduate, have fun, travel, and once you settle you will have plenty of year to enjoy your snake.
My answer as always been the same

I lived in a "no snake" household (everything was allowed but snakes) and I did just fine, I grew up, traveled a bit, lived in different countries than when I finally settled down and bough my first home I bought one snake than two than well let's say that one snake room turned into two. Now looking back it was a good thing because a snake is a LONG commitment and I would have been unable to live the life I lived if I had a snake and kept it.
Bottom line THEIR house, THEIR rule so if they say no it's ok because if you are passionate now you will be passionate in 5, 10 or even 20 years from now.

I think inviting them to go to a local reptile show with you is a good idea. All the vendors (for the most part) would let you and your parents hold a ball python or two and answer any questions. It's also not a bad place to buy the equipment and setup you need, once you've researched online!
If they still don't want to, then there's not much to do, until you graduate and live on your own. That's what I had to do before I got my first bp And now I got a bunch more snakes. Haha

Re: How To Convince My Family!
I posted a topic similar to this just a little while ago, and got mostly the same answers you're getting.
Do your research, tell your parents why you think a ball python would be a good pet pet for you and why it would make you happy. If they still say no, respect their wishes.

I know waiting is tough...it took me until age 52 to indulge my love of snakes. Now I've got a whole viv room full, and I only answer to my wallet! Lol
