    Anything over 95 degrees is too hot.
    A no contact temp gun is a great investment.
    Should be taking temps under the substrate.

    The back of my hand. I know it's not precise but like i said it stays warm but not hot. Just bought a red light to get rid of the white light. As well as a thermo-hygrometer and thermostat and timer plugs and some new hides for him. Was loking for some thing for him to climb on but might go to another store to get him some and some leaves too.

    If it feels warm to a warm blooded person then think about what it feels like to a cold blooded animal.......Using your method I can tell you its too hot.
