Considering ball pythons can end up making money, I'd have kept the projects and sold the pets. Buuut I consider my projects and pets the same. Situationally you sometimes need to make cuts. I tend toward making those cuts where I am left with larger potential.

Actually... considering I consider my rats both pets and food producers, and have fed off my favorite rats simply due to them having issues with tub mates even once... yeah I don't think I get it. Guess I have a completely different outlook on things from other people

    Re: Unemployment sucks

In long run, I lost out. In short run, bills paid and family happy. Family is more important.

    Re: Unemployment sucks

Sorry to hear that. At least you still have few left and hopefully you won't lose anymore. Hope you find something soon. My only recommendation is hit up temp agencies if you really need a job. Unemployment is a real threat for me. Luckily i've been surviving at this private club. One of the bosses is a swear word and is out to get people or always make us worry which is getting old. But again sorry to hear that and best of luck to you and your babies.

I was out or almost a year so I know what you are going through.
One thing I was always proud of was never missing or being late on any of our bills.
There were several credit cards that didn't get paid for a long time and are now in collections.
Will get it turned around in time.

Just stay strong and keep looking.

    Re: Unemployment sucks

I think it happens to everyone at some point in heir lives. Been there too... my husband and I had overlapping periods of unemployment, and my husband's happened while he was taking college classes too.

I'm a lot like Pit. The major bills got paid on time, have quite a bit of credit racked up still, but we're getting that down now too. I think the major piece of advice is not to let pride get in the way - if you can find a job, take a job. A little money coming in is better than no money at all.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've come close to wanting to sell a few snakes to pay for a vacation but always try to be patient for my projects to pay off. I'm sure you'll get back on track and be able to start new projects. By then there will probably be some rainbow colored unicorn project that's taking over and you can start with totally new goals. I don't know where you live but if it's a bigger city with the service and you have a nicer vehicle I'd try uber and lyft. I actually make twice what I did at the management position I left last year after 13 years so I only work about 15 hours a week.

I've had money and I have been broke. You do what you have to do but never give up. Things eventually work out.

    Re: Unemployment sucks

Done hit all factory and manufacturing. A few restaurants and tomorrow all temp services. I did keep all my racks cause of still having some of my babies still. And I know that come next summer I'll be back on my feet and I can fill them tubs back up.

    Re: Unemployment sucks

This happened to a girl I knew! So I took her snakes in for a couple months till she was back on her feet and then gave them back to her lol I'd want someone to do the same for me!
