BP Behavior Change?
Hi, I haven't been on here in a while but I've recently noticed some unusual behavior from my 6ish month old BP. I came back from a family trip and while I was away had my dad spray his tank and refill his water bowl/moisten the moss I keep I'm there for humidity. When I got back and checked on him he wasn't in any of his usual hiding spots (usually under a Hide) and instead was curled up in the corner of his tank under some moss. I took him out, misted him with some emollient water and he seemed really active. I put him back in his tank and he went under his usual hide, but didnt seem to love it there. He then went and drank from his bowl and then raised his head in the air and yawned a bit (pretty sure this wasn't stargazing and he didnt seem overly mucousy or making wheezing noises so I dont think it was an RI either). When I checked on him before bed he was back in that corner with his head out and seemingly on the alert but I'm not sure. Is there something wrong with him or is he just switching up his preferences? Is there something I can do to help him? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the snake is comfortable in that corner for some reason. How is your husbandry? temps? Any changes that you can think of? That behavior doesn't sound a bit odd to me but if it's different that the recent past I guess it is. I'd check your temps.

What in the world is emollient water, and unless he was covered in poop, why did you put any water on him?
I would spot spot clean under the hide. Since this is new, chances are he might have peed or pooped under there and doesn't want to stay near it.

Sounds like normal behavior and I agree to atleast spot clean incase it's dirty under the usual hide. They're nocturnal so being alert and on the look out for food at night is normal. Also if you have to spray so often I'd figure out a way to correct the enclosure so it doesn't lose so much humidity.

Ok, I think his temps were a bit too high. I was just a little concerned. He's moved back to his regular place. He did eat recently and I haven't seen any poop so there's a possibility it's buried. I'll definitely take a closer look. Thank you all!

Re: BP Behavior Change?
It has vitamins and minerals in it and I'll mist him from a distance with it instead of using just regular water if he seems particularly dry. The humidifier in our house is broken so its an uphill battle to keep the humidity up past even 20% in his tank. It's a reptile safe mist and I use it if I see that the humidity in his tank dropped and he seems wrinkly.
