    Ovulation?

Here I was thinking she might lay eggs since her last shed was about 30 days ago and all of the behaviors leading up to it. Then I see this...doesn't that look just like a ovulation? The last time she locked was about 2 weeks ago or so? When I posted about her being restless. If that is ovulation, would the eggs even be fertilized since she hasn't locked since then? She is driving me crazy...LOL.

    this is getting real...

So is it ok I didn't pair her again in the past couple of weeks ? I thought she was past ovulation by her behavior..

edited to say, her last lock was actually March 31st

Well, if she has "dud" eggs, its ok. I still love her

If she's going, she's going. Considering Snakes can retain sperm for a couple years before using it to fertilize, I should think missing a couple of weeks isn't going to make a difference!

Yep looks like an ovulation to me! Many breeders only pair monthly so a few weeks is perfectly fine. I had fertile eggs laid by a female that wasn't paired in 2 years and had a regular clutch during that time already.

I do feel quite bad for her. That looks so uncomfortable !! And she is such a sweetie. Just gives me her usual patient "oh hello, you again" look while I'm gently petting her. She really is such an awesome snake. My first morph (and fav. snake, but don't tell the others) is going to create little ones

I didn't realize this was the same snake that you posted before. Keep an eye on her if she starts coiling tail in or looks like she is trying to move the eggs down I would crank the incubator back up. Better safe than sorry. My first eggs of the season are due soon. I'm cranking up this weekend. Keep an eye on her vent.
