    Yawning snake

    Hello! I am new to this forum, and I have recently gotten a normal male ball python! Similar to what the title says, I have discovered that he is constantly doing a little "yawn". Sure, it's cute, but he has been doing it so often, that I am getting a bit worried. When I'm around him, I would say he does it 2-3 times a day. Everytime I look into his mouth, it seems fine. No signs of mouth rot, nor am I hearing any wheezing sounds. He breaths normally. The color of his mouth is a healthy pink, so it doesn't seem like an RI or mouth rot.

    His husbandry is 74 humidity, and 27 C. This is noted from the middle of the vivarium. He has a heat pad with a thermostat that currently reads 32 C.

    He hasn't eaten since I got him, and the pet store stated he has not eaten since February. I have attempted feeding him, but he isn't interested in food at all. I have weighed him, and he hasn't lost any weight, so I'm just assuming he's going through one of his notorious fasts.

    Maybe I'm overreacting, but I'm a new snake owner, so this is a bit alarming to me!;;

    Congrats on the new snake!

    My snakes yawn, not 2-3 times a day, but I may see them less than you see yours. And I'm not an expert. I am sure someone elsewhere with more experience will chime in.

    Snakes "yawn" for many reasons. If there's nothing amis, then the most common one is jut a good old fashion stretch and jaw realignment.
