    4 Months Without Eating

According to my records Circe has now gone 4 months without eating. I offer every week when I feed everyone else, and if she doesn't go for it I alternate offering it to Emrys or leaving it overnight for her (he eats every other week, and they are f/t). I haven't weighed any of them since the beginning of the year because my scale broke and I keep forgetting to get another, but she's not skinny looking or anything. She last weighed in at 1800 grams in December so I'm not super worried, I'm just wondering how long I should keep doing what I'm doing before I try something else? I'm assuming it's probably just a winter fast. Emrys has refused a few meals over the last few months as well, but Calypso has eaten everything I've offered her.

As long as she is not loosing weight I wouldn't worry Had a male last year go 10 months before he decided he was hungry. Was my longest feeding strike. And he only lost 60 grams. She will come around

Okay. I'm going to see if I can borrow my mom's postage scale and check everyone's weights.

i got an orange ghost that hasn't ate for 4 months too, on the bright side she did strike at her food yesterday and missed, after that she didn't seem interested at all so I'm thinking maybe next week is the time. but like stillBP said..

She weighs 1700 grams now after losing 100. I think she should be okay.

I would honestly stop offering or reduce offerings if she's fasting. Wait until she starts giving you signals that she's back to looking for food.

I had planned on it. Luckily I wasn't wasting too many rats, since every other week I've been giving them to Emrys instead.

At that weight I wouldnt be very conserned yet. now if she gets down closer to a thousand or so maybe but at 1700 she can go a very long time with out eating.
I would just monotor her weight and as long as she isn't loosing it very fast let her do her thing
she will come around also check her humidity and temps a big reason they go off food is husbandry issues
