    Ri

so I've been hearing this whistling sound coming from my snake I believe it could be an RI but I'm not 100% I've made a ln appointment for Tuesday because that is the earliest they have but in the mean time are there any chances it will get worse and what can I do to prevent it.

bump your humidity and temps a little, not drastically but just a little.

Wait for the vet's opinion, and if he/she thinks your snake has an RI make sure they do a culture and not just throw antibiotics at it unless its a broad spectrum to use in the mean time while you wait for culture results.

up, bump them up. if I deal with an RI I generally push my humidity to 70-75 and my hotspot to 93ish, and my ambient temps to 82, not out of control hot or uncomfortable.

a culture is something the vet will do with your snake to determine the type of RI it is if it indeed a respiratory infection. They can be bacterial, fungal or viral so its wise to determine what you are dealing with in order to treat it, as a fungal or viral infection cannot be helped with antibiotics.

A lot of vets just assume they are bacterial and treat accordingly, and in general they usually are, but its always better to be safe.

Do you see any bubbles coming from your snake's mouth or nose?

No, she just shed a few days ago and I just fed her and after she ate I heard the sound, so I just kept on looking at her and heard it so I took her out of the tub I use to feed her and held and no sounds coming from her, but I put her back in the tub and I heard the sound again so I called the exotic vet and made the appointment they asked me if she was breathing from the mouth or see any bubbles coming from her nose or mouth and I don't at all. She was very active as usual when I handle her and I put her back in her tank and she went to her hide like she always does after she eats.

if she just shed then my guess is she has a piece of shed stuck in her nostril, also a common occurrence for the whistling noise. See what the vet has to say, my guess now is its just a shedding thing lol.

Her shed was weird this time she had the cloudy eyes and everything and that passed but she didn't start shedding then all of a sudden after I got home from work I saw her hanging out on her cool side for a long time and I lifted her hot side hide and she had pooped and I saw her shed then she went back to her hot hide after it was removed and cleaned.

Hi- I have a question also about a RI.
I heard my bp making clicking sound as well. I took him to the vet and he said there was no sign that he had a RI. He said he look fine and healthy.
But today when I had him out- he yawned and the wiped his head on my arm and left behind what seemed like saliva? Is that normal? Do snake drool at all? I'm worried he still has an RI. But if the vet says no then what else could it be?

From the saliva it seems like that is RI did you take him to a reptile specialist or exotic pet vet, not saying you didn't. If the vet said nothing was wrong and your seeing symptoms I'd get a second opinion or goback and see them again.

    Re: Ri

Okay so it's been a few days, and still no sign of any RI symptoms I'm starting to think what Predatorkeeper87 said is true more and more now. She's behaving her typical way, she's not getting defensive or anything when I handle her so could it be that she just had shed in her nostril and would the vet be able to take it out? Or is it something that is just going to come out on its own???
