    The pastels are pastels. LOL. Different lines. I did something similar. When I started breeding I bought adult females. This way I knew what I was getting. Mostly single gene stuff a few pastels included. It was actually easier to find pastels than normals for me. I still buy adult females when I can. I bought three adult breeders this year form Garrick. Be careful with your breedings though. It can become difficult to tell if the pastel is there or not when the genes start piling on. I have been seeing a lot of "possible pastel" combos being sold lately.
