    Is this normal?

I just fed him a couple hours ago. And usually he goes back in his hide after he eats. but instead he's stayed out and is sitting with his head like this. And he keeps rubbing it on the glass? Is he ok? He was pretty active the last 2 evening/nights also- he would stick his head out of his hide and rest it on the top of it or on his water dish.
So I figured he was hungry because of all his activity. He eagerly ate!
I don't think he's about to shed as he just got done shedding a couple weeks ago. He didn't have any retained skin either.

How much does he weigh? What size prey are you feeding, and how often?

Might be hungry. Might be basking. Might smell food.

Staying out and roaming usually means they want more. You may be able to up the size your feeding or possibly just feed another meal after the first one if he's still hungry. I've fed 2 at a time on many occasions if they are small enough rats and the snake is obviously still looking for food. This may mean you don't need to feed as soon as if you only gave one. The rubbing the nose on things is really common after feeding. I'm not sure if it's because they may have something on them from eating that they are just rubbing off or even possibly just realigning their jaw, it's normal though.

I haven't weighed him yet- I have a scale ordered and it's on it's way. But he's around 3 yrs old- that's what I was told when I got him. And he is about 3 ft long. He's on small rats. The last 3 times I've fed him he goes right back into his hide after he's done eating. but this is the first time he's stayed out.
He is on small rats, i was doing every 10 days, but I noticed 2 days ago he was roaming a lot more than normal at night and I figured he was hungry so I fed him yesterday. And figured I'd try and stick with once a week then and on the same day.

I would definitely do weekly until you can weigh him with activity like that.

    Re: Is this normal?

Ok, so he had a vet appointment today because I though I heard him make these popping noises so was freaking out that he had a RI. But the vet said he's fine and looks good! So I was relieved.
But ever since we got back- which was around 530. He has been roaming and hasn't really stopped. He keeps rubbing his head on the glass and screen top. I took him out to see if he would stop. But it didn't do anything.
Could he still be hungry?? I just fed him on Wednesday. He has never done this the whole month and a half I've had him.....
he weighs 997 grams. Is 1 small rat just not enough and he just hungry still? I just have no clue why he's so active.

If he is eating consistently he should be on one small rat weekly. If the husbandry is good and he is full, he is looking for love.

Don't mean to be off topic but JodanOrNoDan that was the cutest ever. Also agreed, perhaps he just needs some exploring. ☺💕
