ghost
can anyone explain this gene a bit more to me?
I have a banana spider orange ghost male atm. If i breed him with say, something with hypo or green ghost are their offspring hypo? or 100% het for both variations of the gene?
basically i'm confused on if the multiple types of ghost/hypo interact or not.

Well it really depends. There are multiple lines of hypo( ghost) some are compatible and some are not. Orange ghost is one of the more common and is compatible with most lines tho I do not think green ghost is compatible. ( May be mistaken)

If they are compatible you will get visuals and if not then double hets.
Orange Ghost is the most common hypo.
Deb may chime in on this with a little more knowledge.

Re: ghost
I started a thread similar to this one due to an unknown ghost I have in my collection. I have 3 of her offspring. Offspring are het orange ghost and unknown. But from what research I have done at this time, BEL line, N.E.R.D line, and G1's are noncompatible. Deb and a few others have helped me on here to figure the genes out in one form or another. As long as my normal and pastel orange ghost and (lastest pick up) honey bee continue to glow, its a gene I'm wanting to work with

Ghost is a simple recessive mutation therefore to produce a ghost you need at the very minimum 2 heterozygous animals (normal looking animals carrying the ghost gene) to be paired together to produce a ghost this would give you 25% chance per egg to produce a ghost other normal looking animals are considered 66% het ghost since you cannot tell apart the normal from the het ghost.
There are several lines most common lines that are work with are compatible however some are not, Bell, Orange Ghost (NERD), Butterscotch are all compatible.
