I am not sure what happened, but last night at some point, some how all the water ran out of Kitty's water fall and into the cage substrate, a mix of coconut husk and reptibark. most of the substrate on the top was still dry as it all was absorbed from the bottom. I mixed it up and now all of it is moist, not sopping, but moist. I noticed it when I woke up this morning and didn't have time to change out the substrate before I left for work. Will he be ok today? Do I even have to change out the substrate?

I would swap it out and let the stuff in there now dry out before reusing (assuming it is otherwise clean). Snakes and flowing water can be a very wet thing - I used to use the ReptiFlo250 in a couple of the tanks to get the humidity up - and on a regualr basis I'd wind up with water all OVER the place. It looked nice when it worked but was too much of a PITA so I finally ditched it in favor of a much larger water bowl and contac paper for the lid (and THAT solution eventualy gave way to tupperware).

I was planning on drying it out, but will he be okay for the day? I can't leave work and there is no one else to change it. If he will notbe okay, I may be able to negotiate a long lunch, at the most I usually get an hour and it takes almost 30 min to get to my house and 30 back so that would take my whole lunch.

A new way to tell the gender of a bp...
As long as it isn't sopping wet or no standing water (i.e. wetbelly) I think you'll be ok to make it through your workday.
