Yeah, it's Eco Earth. I hated the stuff like 4 years ago lol. It's working awesome now. I used American Excelsior aspen for years and it worked good. Was work to keep humidity up though. Then I switched to ReptiChips which are really nice but for my big boas, they would bury their rumps under it and hide urates like a cat lol. Nothing quite like shoving the tip of your finger in a semi cold not quite set urate. Plus I couldn't see where my retic was pissing so made it really hard to spot clean. Then I ran out so I needed something right now so I went down to my local mom and pops pet shop and bought out their supply of Eco Earth lol. So far the stuff has been great. Easy to spot retic piss. The boas don't bury urates under the stuff so it sits on top in a neat wet pile and when they poop, the stuff like sugar coats the poop so it doesn't smear all over. The only down side is last night when cleaning out a huge turd from Rosey, I thought I got it. I found a little 'dirtclod' that I thought was just a clump of Eco Earth that stuck together because it was wet. I tried to squish it and guess what......it was a nugget of Eco Earth wrapped poo. It is a horrible feeling squishing a nugget of fresh snake poo the size of a superball
As for humidity, it holds it really good. I use all AP cages which hold humidity good to begin with and this stuff just amplifies it. I can sit at 99% pegged gauge all day long for over a week. The only downside is I have to stir the stuff usually once every few days as my snakes pack it down and I use flexwatt only so I don't want it to start growing anything. ReptiChips works good for humidity but since its bigger, I had to usually spray it down every few days with water. Plus Eco Earth is so soft. The snakes just love pushing little channels in it and laying down lol.
