LOL, I can imagine that !! And the jump

You guys are risk takers in my opinion. I do not let anyone know about the animals in my house. Only family and close friends. It's not that I am doing anything illegal, I just don't want to give anyone a reason to break in. Also, that same repairman could do some work on your neighbor's house and he could let slip something like "how can you live next to someone that has all those "giant" snakes?" Next thing you know you have your homeowners association complaining that your snakes might eat their kids and pets. Just something I would rather not deal with.

I rather they not open the "peculiar" cabinet themselves while I'm not looking. I have no neighbors "that" close and no restrictions nor homeowners association at all, thank god Also none concerning reptiles in our city/county
    .
They already knew about the snake from the display cage. My collection isn't worth much at all (monetary). There are far more valuable things in my house, so if someone wants to break in, it would probably be for other reasons, and I can't hide everything. There are several people and they have to get into every single room, incl. walk in closets.

That's what the alarm, German shepherd and the guns are for In this case, the snakes are a added deterrent, haha, they may think they run "free" at night.

I completely get your concern though, some people have collections worth into the hundred of thousands. And thefts HAVE happened to some breeders, esp. since they often have additional buildings in which they house their collections.

My snakes wouldn't be worth going to jail over, and I rather they know what's behind "door number 3" before they wonder and have a peek with my back turned, possibly causing problem

I had a service man at my house today for a regular scheduled maintenance job on my boiler, he said he'd be downstairs for an hour and a half... so, i took my BP out and sat down at the dining room table with my laptop. To my surprise, he came upstairs (turns out I'm looking at at least an $8000 job!!!) and saw the snake... he actually lobed it!!! He asked a few queations and said he wants a snake but he still lives with his Dad who is afraid and will not allow a snake. He said he gave up asking, but was going to start looking online so he could have the setup ready to go for when he moved out!! I just told him to do his homework and get everything ready before the snake comes home with him. He said yeah definitely and thanked me for showing me my snake and cant wait to move out so he could get his own
