Mine is named Alebrije, it's actually a very neat story. Alebrijes are handcrafts made in a specific area of Mexico, these objects made with vibrating colours and patterns in the shapes of animals. The animals are often non-specific, as the concept was originally that the alebrijes came to one in a dream. The artists would find a piece of wood, for instance, a burl on a tree, and allow the creature to come out of it freely- the natural shape would influence the final form.

Years ago, before we were together, my partner visited his family there and bought me a bracelet of a snake alebrije. Little did he know I had been having dreams over the month before he'd returned, waking and often repetitive dreams about snakes. The dreams were particularly vivid and sometimes scary, to the point I would not sleep, and he had no knowledge of them. I had to name my beep after this strange occurrence.

So far, I just have one normal, named Boudreaux. The plan is to give him and epic swamp-esc set up...being that he's cajun and all :p

Slight tangent so apologies ....


When my daughter was born I wanted her to be called Siobhan ( Irish ) as it looked so dreamy and mystical but later when I learnt that it was really pronounced 'Chiv - On' .... I quickly changed my mind



The only snake out of 20 that I named is 'Jose' after the famous / infamous Jose Mourinho ( legendary football /soccer manager of Manchester United -currently )

He's known as ' the special one ' due to his spectacular managerial achievements over the years ...

So I named this amazing little fella ' Jose ' as he's totally unique !

He's an Imperial Pueblan . ( King X Milk )

aww that snake is gorgeous! I actually looked at Siobhan as a possible name for my Bp in case he was female, but I settled on Aoife. Then I found out he was male, lol
