You got it. He's at the right place. However He's over his head with a burm with the little experience that he has. I hope we can help him so he nor his burm get's hurt.

It is, but he came forward and asked questions, and there are no stupid questions.

    I'll chip in !!

    although, that is kinda mean.

I would also not advise that with a Blood python. For such fat snakes, they are fury on scales and they hit HARD and fast.

    I've got a strange eater a lot like Gio's, *but* she's a 58-gram almost 2-year-old Spotted Python, so even full-grown a feeding strike won't be too bad.

My husband's juvenile RTB you *definitely* use tongs, dangle at the entrance to the hide, and half the time I still jump when he slams it. No way you want any feeding accidents with him!

I hate strike feeding ... I think I've got a short attention span so I get distracted and suddenly BAM !!!

Scares the life out of when I do it for my Royals ..

Re: Best way to feed a boa?

We've got several strike feeders, so I should be used to it, but the RTB is the only one who strikes from hiding - the others do it from out in the open so it isn't quiiiite so much of a surprise.
