although, that is kinda mean.
I would also not advise that with a Blood python. For such fat snakes, they are fury on scales and they hit HARD and fast.

I've got a strange eater a lot like Gio's, *but* she's a 58-gram almost 2-year-old Spotted Python, so even full-grown a feeding strike won't be too bad.
My husband's juvenile RTB you *definitely* use tongs, dangle at the entrance to the hide, and half the time I still jump when he slams it. No way you want any feeding accidents with him!

I hate strike feeding ... I think I've got a short attention span so I get distracted and suddenly BAM !!!
Scares the life out of when I do it for my Royals ..

We've got several strike feeders, so I should be used to it, but the RTB is the only one who strikes from hiding - the others do it from out in the open so it isn't quiiiite so much of a surprise.
