Agree. 48, and still never been married.
Spent about ten years with a guy who finally decided he couldn't even live with a single house rabbit. I am a VERY slow learner!
The current BF is good with the pets, and I'm grateful for that. One of the snakes is technically his, but I care for her.

The only thing that garter ever killed were fish and worms but he was definitely "sizing up" my dog. Good thing that vicious creature wasn't allowed to roam free.

I've ' thanked ' a couple of the posts above when really a LIKE would be more appropriate ... is there a LIKE option ??

I think thanks are all we got. I do find myself thanking posts in place of a like button quite often haha. I think it's supposed to work that way though?

Thanks for sharing your experiences everyone! I really love this community because not many people in real life share my love for ball pythons. Keep the stories coming
I think it's pretty funny that some people think that having a snake will scare off men. I highly doubt that it would be a deal-breaker for most. And like I said, if a guy doesn't want to be with me simply because I have a snake, that's pretty immature and not someone I would want anyway *shrug* Also, Grandma's act like finding a husband should be your one and only goal in life LOL.
Edit: I use the thank button pretty much as a like button as well. It might be confusing if we had a like button too because would profiles say "thanked x times in x posts" AND "x likes in x posts"?

Most people I've mentioned my snake to are quite seriously concerned he'll eat my dog. Despite explaining that these animals have thresholds to the size of prey they can eat, and that even a monster sized ball python at like 5-6 feet couldn't swallow my dog, they still think he's just sizing him up and waiting for an opportunity. It's pretty ridiculous, but some people just don't understand that some things are too big for these guys to eat. They see these cartoons of a snake with an absolutely MASSIVE lump in its belly and think that's how reality is.
Just for reference I own a pug dog that weighs like 27 pounds (he's a big boy for his breed, not fat) and my snake is only about 14 inches long (90ish grams) and takes pinky rats lmao
also had my boyfriends mother tell me he'll strangle me in my sleep, I told her that's why he has a locking cage

I wish there was, some posts aren't helpful, but I still like them.

Even just today I got a bad reaction. I posted a short video of my snake on Facebook and one person (that RARELY speaks to me) commented "You got a snake?? In the place that you live and sleep???". I was annoyed so I just deleted it. I understand that not every one likes snakes or gets the appeal but don't be rude about it!
