    I will always recommend starting off with hatchlings - especially to those new to the hobby. There are things about keeping ball pythons that just come easier with personal experience and time. Also, good luck finding an adult female Clown Pied for sale (even a hatchling won't likely be easy to find). If you do happen to find an adult, you're talking small car purchase price (even a hatchling won't be cheap by any stretch of the imagination).
