We had a discussion about this not too long ago. Robert and I have similar marked bp's.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

Apparently a few hets seem to show up with the bunny head, but I think you can have a normal as with a bunny head. I know I bought my bp as a normal, and it happens to have the bunny head. (It's more like a bunny with one upright ear, and one only halfway up, but it's a bunny). It would be great if my bp was secretly het, but I assume it's a normal.

I just went upstairs and looked out of my 3 bp's... 2 have bunny heads, one full out ears up, the other one ear up and one ear slightly folded over. I know that the 2 I have are suppose to be normals, but it would be interesting if it could be proven the bunny head meant anything.

Yeah, usually a clear bunny head shape on the bp's head would indicate it may be a het(I've seen countless hets that have the bunny head) but it can also show up on normals I think, although I've never seen a normal with a bunny head. Hmm...haven't really checked Pelota. Maybe she has one. Then that'd definitely mean that normals can have them too, because I'm sure she's not het for anything. Although she is a "bullseye morph"(not many really consider it a true morph...including me...don't think it's been proven out).

how would you know if it was het for something?would you need a dna test?

Meet Amadeus
You could DNA test, or you would have to wait until it was of breeding age and breed it. With breeding, however, it would be pretty hard to determine what it was hex for, if anything. A few of the traits (like albino) are simple recessive, so if you have 2 hets that are both het for albino, you have a 1 in 4 chance of getting an albino. Even then you might not get an albino until the 5th try.
