Yes they lighten and darken depending on how they feel. Caesar gets fired up sometimes and looks like he is almost glowing lol.

And like mentioned, you are going to be in for a big snake probably. Caesar my male SD just turned 9 months old 3 days ago and he is already 5' and eating a large rat every 10 days. But he is a pig lol.
