ok thanks so much. so will me putting the red light on at night say around 7 pm to 5 am is fine? i apologize if u already answered tht lol just want to make sure im getting this right.

No I wouldn't do that personally... your snake wants it to be dark at night when he is out and about. Any light will be disruptive to him and possibly stress him out/cause him to not feed as well. I wouldn't do any light past midnight for my snakes.. any light should be on during the day, not at night. Remember that during the day his cage is still being lit with the ambient lighting around your house and the room he is in.. so you would not be providing him with 12 hours of darkness.
