    Attacked by Cage Lock

I was spot-cleaning cages yesterday, and decided to use a step-stool to get to some higher ones instead of moving the stepladder over. Failed in the approach/mount, and had the stool roll (as in rolled over) backwards out from under me.

Apparently on the way down I caught my hand on the sliding door lock pin on one (or two) AP cages. Ouch ouch ouch. Minor scrape on my shin and the heel of the same hand, sore knees, sore right hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and headache. Better today (mostly just stiff), but I expect to be in pain again tomorrow.

At a few months shy of 50 I don't need to be crashing around like that (did visit the acute care center, they didn't see a need for x-rays/CT/MRI). But at least I didn't go through the door of the VBB's A20.

Bandaged paw - fun spot to try to get bleeding to stop, the band-aid now is mostly to help keep it clean.

Gimi the beagle and Pippin the husky baby-sitting while I was icing my knee:

Yeah, sucks getting old. I have one of the younger people in my house pull my low tubs. My back doesn't like it when I bend down to get some of my bigger girls. Get well.

Hope you feel better soon...annoying accident by the sounds of it and of course the 2nd day is always the worst. At least you have those adorable companions to keep you company.

    Re: Attacked by Cage Lock

Definitely feeling it today, as expected. And I have an interesting set of bruises on the knee I was icing. I assigned the rest of the cage-cleaning to my husband.

    Ouch !!!

Bad cage lock. It needs more handling sessions to get over that attitude.
Bop it with a paper towel roll to let it know you are approaching and that it better behave !!!

    Hope you feel better soon.

That's how I felt after a un-scheduled dismount off of my horse. She took off like a shot and I was good with that (bareback, too, no saddle, lol)
It was the rather sudden stop that got me. Nothing like being thrown onto the ground with some force..

I'm also getting to old for that, esp. since "bad me" didn't wear a helmet and landed head first right next to a railroad tie.
