Your story made me cry because I put down my 13 year old Sheltie at home with sleeping pills because she was having seizures twice daily and her medication wasn't working. I got my snakes after her, but I could imagine her being that friendly to just lick the snakes and chase them around than harm them in any way.

colour Sheltie in between our two Irish Setters , on family trips out she used to naturally 'herd up' our two little kids so when one went away from the family exploring ( usually the youngest - our little boy) - she used to follow them very closely until he came back into the fold ...
