There's a good thread regarding quarantine on the recent posts (phone won't copy link, soz) but usually around 3 months is the given time. If you add another new snake into the already quarantine section you would then reset the counter for both snakes to 1 day. There was someone mention on it about not moving the qt snake until the 3 months are over & it has fed 4 times.
It is possible to quarantine in the same room, but it is a bit more difficult and risky.
