Curiosity? Pied marker maybe?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Pieds a simple recessive trait? If so, there should be no phenotype indicating an animals has the gene.

I'm pretty new but from what I understand even though a pied is a recessive there are possible het pied "markers" and sometimes even a het pied can "influence" suttle changes in color or variation
