Breeders should track their packages because until the animal is safe and sound and delivered that is their responsibility.
I'm really happy that I decided to go with you for my last purchase. I don't think everyone looks at it that way.

If you have a local Fed-ex facility it works best in my opinion especially if you are free to go pick it up at the local Fed-ex site. That way you take the driver out of the occasion. And you can often pick up your reptile up earlier in the day. And like was stated earlier let the Shipper (Breeder) know of any problems you encounter and let them handle it and get back to you. That is what I did (picked up at the local Fed-ex site) when I got my snake from Reptiles by Mack. They and Fed-ex did a great job.

If you are working with a reputable breeder/dealer, you have a solid first step. If that breeder is shipping with ShipYourReptiles, you should let OUR STAFF handle any delays or issues for you. We work with a much higher level of account servicing than what you can access on your own with 1-800-FedEx. We are always happy to help!
And to put it all in perspective, at SYR we ship 1500 live reptile packages each week. Delays and exceptions/issues are typically less than 3% of packages. FedEx does an outstanding job overall, and it's a safe and responsible way to transport reptiles.
Delays can happen, but don't let it get you balled up and stressed out, in most instances, it is smooth and easy!

That's a good idea! Thanks for the tip. How is your snake doing? Reptiles by Mack was one of the websites that I was considering. I'd like to know if they have quality, healthy BPs!
@Robyn@SYR
I ordered my ball python from BHB Reptiles. I looked them up on the Fauna Classifeds BOI and they seem to have a really good reputation. They have been really nice to deal with. They even let me push the shipping a bit since my UTH and thermometer don't arrive until Friday. I explained that I want the whole enclosure setup with the right temps/humidity before the snake arrives so they agreed to ship her out on Monday I'm not sure which company they use to ship their reptiles. I'm just a bit nervous because it's my very first snake so I want everything to go smoothly. I would have picked her up directly from BHB but they are in Michigan and I'm in Oregon...Thanks for all the info! Your company really sounds great~ I'm also worried about someone potentially being too rough with the package and just leaving it on my doorstep without knocking.
@zina10
LOL I would only go off feed if you try to offer me a rodent! I'm more of a pizza person ;D

I wonder if BHB would contact fedex for a customer. Not saying anything bad about them but Brian and Lori are busy 24/7 so I imagine tracking every animal they send out would be a monumental task. Then again Brian is perpetually moving so I bet he would get it done lol.
