First shed with me

So yesterday I picked up Cleopatra (I really don't know if it's a male or female, just kinda hope it's a female) to handle her and noticed she was really dull and her eyes were blue. So I got excited because this will be her first shed with me.

When I bought her she was going through her shed but it was a bad one (bought from petco. Won't do it again) I did my best to get all of it off but still had some on her head.

My 2 questions are:

1. How long can I expect the shedding process to take?
2. Since she still has stuck shed from the last time, will this effect this shed?

congrats on your new snake.... for the shed process increase the humidity to around 70/75.... should take about 4-5 days (at least mine does) has far as old shed it should come off with this one....

Is the old shed just on her body? or on her head also?..... that question in just curiosity.

The shedding of old skin itself (not including being in blue) takes only a few hours, and it should be in one piece.

If she's already done with that process and there are still bits and pieces stuck to her, you can put a warm wet towel in a tub, put her in, and leave her in there to slither around for 15 minutes. After you take her out, it'll be very easy to wipe off any stuck pieces with the towel. I think I read this method step by step somewhere on this forum, but I can't find it anymore LOL.

ETA: I just noticed that she didn't actually shed this time yet LOL. Bump the humidity to 70% and hope it goes well! If she's still in blue, it'll be a few days before the actual shedding. If there's still stuck shed, you can use the above method.

Ok cool. Yes I have bumped it up with damp moss. The old shed is on her head and a little on her neck

It will probably be 4 or 5 days from opaque to shed. Take the advice above and you should see a one piece shed. Good luck!

Follow the simple suggestions by the members (as I have in the past) and you should be fine - good luck. I just had my second succesful 1 piece shed with my girl.

The warm towel method does work. But sometimes, my BP will have little dry pieces stuck to the top of her head. As you probably know, BPs are very head shy, so it can be tricky trying to get the old skin off, . I always have luck with a Q-tip. Wet the cotton part with warm water, and slowly approach the head. (Not too slow) . Gently start rubbing the dry areas with the Q-tip and the skin should easily come off. All Snakes attitudes are different, but with mine, she is weary at first, but I think she then realizes that I'm helping her, and just let's me work, without constantly trying to pull away. There are many methods, but this one has worked for me, the couple of times that she needed assistance.

Mine always shed about 2 days after they are out of blue. How long they stay in blue will vary. Its usually a few days.

Is it normal that a BP will look normal after getting out of blue? really want her to shed
