Ball Python juvies certainly do eat a lot once they "take off" with feeding.
I'm certainly not in the "power feeding" camp, but the little ones grow rapidly and need food more often then adults. They actually should look kind of chubby.
Young ones like that I feed at least every 5 days or so, and the food item should be as wide around in the middle of their body (if you imagine stretching them out) then the snake is at the widest part of its body. Or only slightly smaller.
They are little bottomless pits and if husbandry is spot on and they are healthy, then "furiously" wandering around at that age is usually hunger.
