    What is she doing???

Mk, Yzma is an almost 4 year old, female Spider, who lives in a 40 breeder with a cold side ranging 78 to 81 and a hot side ranging 88 to 91. Humidity bounces around between 50% to 65% (between 70% and 80% in shed.) Identical hides on both sides. Thermostat on uth and the thermometer is a Walmart one that does hot and cold sides in one unit. Heat lamps are on dimmers.
Her last meal was December 25th - she decided to fast - and I find a urate every 15 to 20 days-ish. She has lost 70g to 80g (somewhere inbetween there...in forget the exact number.) So, her skin feels a tad looser but it snaps right back if pinched. No wrinkled eye caps or scales.
    BUT:
Twice in the last 24 hours she has either "fallen" into her water dish or passed through it. She has completely soaked half the chips in her tank with her water....twice (We checked for mites around her nose, eyes, heat pits and body.)
So..... is she just being annoying or could there be a problem? (Every time I check on her she's sleeping or just waking up.) I don't want her getting rot so I keep changing out the chips....

If she isnt sleeping 24/7 in the wet chips she should be fine. It might raise humdity a little but that tank is big enough where she isnt stuck in the mess. As far as anything else there is no way for anyone to tell over a forum. Several Balls fast during winter months... I hope thats all it is. Keep us posted.

Would there be a reason that she's going for swim each night? Lol.
When she first started the fast, we offered food every 2 weeks, then every 3 weeks and now I'm not offering again until March 5th (4 weeks.) I'm sure the fast is normal. Just curious about all the water dish playing.

    Re: What is she doing???

I have one boy who always plays in his water before he sheds. None of my others do, just him. So pre-shed is a possibility. Even under identical conditions individual animals will display different behaviors. Just when I think I have them figured out something always happens to destroy my latest theory.
