Update on Wallace the Septic Miracle Snake!

Hi everyone! A while ago I posted this thread about a python I rescued from some bad neglect: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...ic-ball-python!

Well after months of working with the vet and a lot of money I think he is finally out of the woods for the most part! After speaking with the vet, he did have some parasites so we did a round of deworming meds and I continues keeping him exhaustively clean, changing the newspapers in his cage daily, keeping the humidity right, temp right, and tried to feed him regularly if he would take it. He refused for a bit and I almost gave up on him but ended up basically stuffing the mouse in his mouth and it turned out he just didn't have the energy to strike, but once he had it in his mouth he ate it! So, I "force fed" him by helping him get it in his mouth for the next few weeks and finally now he is eating normally again. He's also started pooping and had an enema or two, lol, but he is still getting pretty constipated fairly often I think because of some internal organ damage left over from the septicemia. Anyway all of that said, for the most part he's eating normally, pooping normally, and acting MUCH healthier! He strikes aggressively now and constricts like a normal snake and the last few times I fed him he's had no problem eating it. He's also shed his skin twice, revealing much healthier, stronger skin underneath the badly infected septic layer that was basically peeling off his body in a bloody horrible mess.

Here is a pic of his progress!

What it looked like the day he came home from the vet (I think): http://i.imgur.com/YOw2Uza.jpg

Still skinny and needs to keep eating to put on more weight, but he's looking much healthier and happier!! http://i.imgur.com/YjEPTu7.jpg

Just wanted to give everybody an update since you were all so supportive of our endeavor ... it cost me a boat load of money but I think he's gonna be ok!
