It has heat cable run along 1/3 of the bottom.
You have to get a T-stat to control it.
AP recommends something like a Helix

I have the T11 w/ heat and I have it hooked up to a Helix DBS1000 and it works great. I have mine set on 92 degrees. Because my cage is large ( 4'x2'x18") I also have over head heat lights.
