    Heating issues

So I'm having some heating issues-
I'm currently using a infrared bulb inside a cage inside the vivarium, which is doing the job fine, but not really creating enough heat on the substrate under the hide.
I'm worried about using a heat panel as, having a wooden vivarium, I would need to place it inside, and I wouldn't want to risk any burns, due to thermal blocking and that stuff.
Basically, using a wooden vivarium, what is the best way to get heating? Is it to have a heat mat covered by paper and then substrate?

Never use a Heat mat inside under substrate and you cant use a UTH with Wooden Viv. Use a RHP and call Bob at Pro Products. Tell him the dimensions and he will tell you what size you need. He not only is the best RHP manufacturer in the business, he is a Keeper too.

    $80-$130 depending on Size shipped.

Is an RHP a radiant heat panel? I'm living in the UK so dont think Bob is an option, and when I search amazon it comes up with heaters for housing, rather than vivs

I don't know about shipping to UK. Bob is a dedicated business man id be surprised if he didn't. The Radiant Heat Panels your seeing are for homes and I would not use those as they arent made to be inside a Viv overheating...
I only know of Pro Products and Reptile basics here in the US. Email Bob, asking cant hurt.

I Just called him, he said he ships to UK all the time. $40-$50 shipping depending on size panel. You can email him all dimensions/size of your Viv and he will give you a price.
