    Paradox?

From what I've seen, we can't breed specifically for a paradox, correct? Thinking about purchasing a female paradox lesser for a really good price, but was wondering if there's a decent chance she could produce paradox. Sorry for this question as I'm sure there's been many like it, but they are outdated and there's new findings everyday!

If you buy a paradox you have the same chance at producing a paradox with it as you have with any other snake I think. Paradox just pop up, and I's nothing you can do to produce more paradox

    Re: Paradox?

Nope. Only thing breeding a paradox would do is make it so you possibly might get the wrong genes in the babies. Like an albino paradox bred to an albino might result in all het albinos because the paradox had the reproductive system of the normal. Or they might be all albino because it had the reproductive system of the albino.

From what I've found, female birds that produce large eggs are more likely to produce double yolked eggs than females of the same species that produce small/medium sized eggs. And double yolked eggs are what produce paradoxes, if the genetics are right. On that score, I'd think a female paradox would be more likely to produce large eggs than a randomly chosen female. On the other hand, I wouldn't pay a premium for a paradox.

This is actually not proven and everyone has different opinions on it. I personally believe its genetic and breeding a paradox can increase your chance in producing more. Here is my thread, read the first post by redshepherd. https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...aradox-genetic

Given the term "paradox" is an illegitimate one that is used to describe phenotypes that arise from a large number of possible causes, a scant few of which having the potential to be heritable, the odds of creating a "paradox"-line from a "paradox" animal are mostly against you.

The above!! There's one trait I know of that is an inheritable paradox. Breeder out of UK iirc.
