This is my Alyssum. She was surrendered to me at the veterinary hospital where I used to work when she was 7 months old. Her original owner lost his house to foreclosure and abandoned his 5 outdoor-only dogs to starve to death in the backyard. After a week, the neighbors hopped the fence and rescued the dogs. Alyssum was very sick and the person who took her in could not afford to treat her, so I accepted her and got her better. And she decided I was the only safe person, so it made it impossible to rehome her. After all, it's hard to say to someone "Please adopt this small dog that is going to cower from you and growl at you constantly, yes I know she seems fine with me and she is, but she doesn't like you so please adopt her."
The day after I got her, doing her "peta poster"
Depending on how I shave her, she can look like so many different breeds. It also takes me a few days to recognise her after shaving her.
Mostly Full fluff (I have to keep her face shaved so she can *see*):
Keeping the ears (some) and tail (and the beard because I love her beard):
Alyssum, where did your ears GO???
