Mine has a PVC structure that supports to upper platforms that have hides and substrate on them. Not only does he climb the pipes, but he also spend a fair amount of time in the hides on the upper platforms. They're basically additional floor space. There's also a bendy tube thing going from upper to lower level, and he goes up and down through it a lot.

One thing to keep in mind though is that done ball pythons are pretty shy about new things in their cage. So especially if you got your snake from a breeder and it lived in a small tub before, it might take your snake awhile to figure out the climbing thing. So if you put a perch in and your snake doesn't use it right away, doubt take it out again. Just give it awhile to find its, ummmm, feet.
