Exclamation BP escaped not sure what to do.. help & advice please

As the title says I need help and advice on what to do since my BP escaped.
My BP (Hersha) is between a foot and two feet in length (the place I adopted him from never told me his length & I kept forgetting to measure him) and is a bit over 9 months old.
I'm not sure where he could've gone since my apartment is generally an open place with not many places that are too enclosed. My sister and her boyfriend both came up to where I live to help look for him and we had no luck. I'm not exactly sure what to do and everywhere else online has been of no help to me. I have to leave for a night tomorrow because of a Christmas gift that's making me go to a mountain resort (I've already agreed to pay for half of it and everyone has organized their schedule to fit this and I'd feel even more miserable if I said we couldn't do it last minute). I also have two cats that live in my apartment. One is very timid, shy, and is scared of him, so I know she couldn't have injured him. The other one is very curious & isn't afraid of much, to put it simply, so I'm not sure how he would act around him. Should I be worried that they may hurt each other?
I live in Wisconsin and my apartment building's hallways are generally very cool compared to the inside of my apartment. My front door is a bit lifted off of the ground, so I'm not sure if he could've left my apartment. If he has somehow gone out there, I'm more worried about someone else in the apartment building finding him and doing something horrible to him because in my experience, people do not like snakes.
Does anyone think he could still be inside my apartment and, if so, any advice on how to lure him out of hiding? I've been so worried since I woke up and found his enclosure was broken (one of my cats have been known to lay on it, so my guess is that he broke it since he's a bit overweight) and it's got me so stressed out since he changed my life and made me so much happier. I've never felt this feeling of loss and stress at the same time. I just need advice on how to get him back... please help me...

I'm a novice keeper but I do remember reading here once to put a heating pad/blanket with maybe the food of choice out and patiently wait. Also remember reading they usually don't travel far.

Sorry I'm not much help but I'm wake and tossing out my 2 cents, hopefully you find your snake soon. You already know but a reminder to secure those cats (impossible I'm sure) a little better once ya do find him.

    Fingers crossed for you.

Yeah , some have had success putting a df mouse in a converted plastic bottle trap lying on a heatmat BUT that works for smaller hatchling sized snake ( corns / kings ) .

Maybe a Viv set in the room , next to the wall , with a mouse on a heatmat UNDER a hide or box BUT in the Viv !?!

It may be tempted in there for the smell and the heat and stay in the hide where it's warm ...

Something along these lines anyways ...

Just make sure you've checked all the warm places , towel cupboards , anywhere there are wires and plug sockets , behind TVs , DVD players , HIFIs , gaming consoles , back of fridges and cookers etc ..

    Good luck !!

Also check under the stove / oven. My husband had one that escaped and they found it living under the stove a month later. Good luck.

I've heard that a good way is to sprinkle a thin layer of salt or sand on the floor so you can see tracks if he moves? Also to put a towel in the door to stop him from getting out. And finally to look in every, most unlikely, unreasonable place. Nothing is too small or too weird for him to get in and snuggle

Here's how you find a loose snake... YOU FREAK OUT A LITTLE! And you start small and close to the escape origination point... and big from there... YOU DON'T STOP TIL YOU SUCCEED. Anything less, and you can just about count on a dead animal. Check back with us. If you imply what I said a little, you will find that animal in less than one hour.

Under the refrigerator is a pretty common place too and some flour scattered around may help show some tracks. Personally I would wait until you're home to put his favourite snack out as if you're not around to watch the cat may scare/possibly injure him. Try not to panic too much as lots of people have found theirs months after them going missing. Good luck

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO GAVE ADVICE!! Hersha finally came out of hiding & I put him back into his enclosure the moment I found him.
Funny enough, I found the cat who broke his enclosure staring at him, which led me to him.
I am super relieved and happy. Thanks again, everyone!
