    Any other workout enthusiasts?

I'm curious how many others on here like to workout in some way. Like running, lifting, or any of the other multitude of ways to get and stay fit? Feel free to share your own record and goals.

I'm a runner and a lifter. I love to run and in warmer weather will run about 20-30 miles per week, no competitions just recreationally as a way to calm my mind and just listen to music with no distractions. And I lift frequently to maintain my running form and to help maintain my archery form and to hopefully get to shooting those heavy triple digit warbows.

I finally hit my personal record in the deadlift today with 3 plates at 2.1X my weight. My goals are to get 2.5x body weight deadlift and finally break into the marathon running distance, I've hit 20 miles but ran out of daylight to continue.

Used to be an avid runner, hills, esp. When I turned 40, we moved to an area where running just wasn't all that feasible (or at least convenient and enjoyable). My health went South anyway.

So, I now workout in the house. Pushups, planks, squats, lunges, resistance bands, etc. I took most of my routines straight off Bodybuilding.com. They have good articles, and numerous videos for good form. One day arms, one day legs, one day abs. If I'm not feeling well, I just take that day off. Not competitive, so I don't worry about it.

Working out goes well with snake videos. Some of the ones I like are, DMExotics, Barczyk (spell??), ViperKeeper. Dave Palumbo, and Kamp Kenan.

I love to stay busy and fit. However, I hate to go to the gym.

I have a horse, so I go to the barn everyday. I sometimes stack 30+ haybales at up to 60 pounds each. I weigh around 110 pounds myself. The feed bags weigh 50 pounds. There is always something to lift and move around.

Then I muck, push a very heavy wheelbarrow around, sometimes dig trenches so that rainwater can flow out of a paddock. Oh, yeah, and I ride and train a horse. Contrary to what some may think, you do not just sit up there, especially when riding bareback. Takes all kinds of muscle to keep balance and also make the horse do what one wants it to do

On top of that I love speed walking. Never could get into running, but I can fast walk for hours and love it !! Also hiking, uphills, downhills, rocky terrain.

At home, I do floor exercises or just dance crazy to some music.

So far all that has been working well enough

Not sure what my record was, but my goal is to stay strong, healthy and athletic.

I was really hitting the gym a lot last year and lost about 20 pounds in a year.
Due to some issues I dropped the membership and started working out at the house.
It not as motivating when you are not paying a monthly fee but I still try to do it a couple times a week.
Then I remember I like cake........ Good thing is I have not gained any weight back.
This could also be that my wife and I are eating a lot better than we ever have and only do fast food a couple times a month instead of a couple times a week.

I lift and run every day.

I just run a general lifting routine, isolating specific groups every day of the week.

    Monday is bi's/back

    Tuesday is Legs/abs

    Weds is tri's/chest

    Thurs is shoulders/abs

    Friday is bi's/tri's

    Sat is shoulders/abs

I do 3-4 days heavy cardio and run at least 1 mile per day that I'm not doing heavy cardio.

I have a love/hate relationship with working out. I hate the effort I have to put in. But I love the results.

I am currently on a workout hiatus due to the holidays and getting sick for like a month. Still have a nagging cough. I plan to get bak into it soon though.

P90X series is my favorite. I can't workout without structure and that program gives it to me in spades. Plan to start back on that at the beginning of Feb.

I'm a runner (4xweek/40 mins) but I can't stand gym workout stuff and where I live had really unusual heavy winter weather recently so I've been off the horse for a couple weeks. I want to get more into floor exercises just for more core strength... I've been starting off with simple planks and push-ups. I NEED to exercise, especially cardio, to keep my head clear. I also tend to walk an unnecessary amount but that's not really hardcore exercise hahaha, I just have a constant need to be moving. I even stand when I'm on the computer like right now. O_O

I used to play sports when I was younger. I also had very physical jobs that kept me in shape. Then I became a computer tech about 15 years ago, and I got really out of shape. I stopped playing sports because it just was not worth the arguments with my (almost ex) wife.

Three years ago, I developed some health issues that prevented me from doing just about anything, and for the last 2 years I have been in extreme pain. I have finally found some doctors that have a clue and I have been doing therapy for the pain, and that includes going to the gym 3 times a week.

I'm just doing a light workout on a bike for 30 minutes, then doing some of the machines to help regain my strength. It's very depressing looking at how little weight is making me work so hard and hurt so much.

But I'm going to keep going, because my goal is to play baseball as soon as my health issues clear up.

Congratulations on hitting a personal record! That's amazing and so worth the effort when you see yourself improving. Are you planning on doing a marathon? 20 miles is a long way for recreation, you wouldn't want to unnecessarily beat up your body. I agree completely I love just listening to my music and melting away any stress that's built up. I used to run but now I walk, same benefits, less physically demanding on my knees (arthritis runs in my family) and I find it more relaxing to take in the sights and houses as I walk by. I like participating in classes at the community centre followed by a sauna session. I also do funny work out videos at home sometimes dancing or slim in 6. I think some people need activity to keep their brains from becoming too overactive.

I have a love/hate relationship with working out. I hate the actually working out part. I hate being hot and sweaty. I love reaching new goals though. Seeing results really helps keep me going. However, sometimes, I just get so bored with it all I have to take a break.

When I do workout, I need structure. So I usually do a modified P90X with some supplementation and customization. Some of the moves I just can't do so I do my own versions.
