    Scratched eye ?

    Hi there !
Today I noticed that my bp had like skin coming out of her eye
When looking closer it looks like a neat scratch
I do feed live rats (she refuses to take f/t ones and lost weight when trying to switch to that, so I basically had no choice but to give her live ones again)
Do you guys think it's a genuine scratch or more like a stuck eye cap ? (She had a perfect shed a few weeks ago though and isn't shedding or in the process of shedding right now)
Also, if so, shall I go to a vet ?

    Thanks

    Re: Scratched eye ?

Hello. My BP dented his eye cap at one point due to some sharp edges in one of his hides (which I took care of). After a couple sheds he was fine and he has perfect round eye caps.

Have you tried fresh killed? Or warming up the F/T mouse to their normal body temp?

I'm assuming you watch your snake while the live food is in there with him?

Kinda hard to get a good look, does appear to have some stuck shed top of eye nose area though. I can't tell for sure about the eye cap though. It does remotely appear to possibly be a retained eye cap. Unless you witnessed the incident, it's hard to tell for me from photos to be sure.

Hard to tell from the photos.
Leave it be and see what it looks like in a couple days to a week.

I haven't tried fresh killed, can't do that really..
but I've tried every other possible way
And yes I always stand by and watch to be sure she eats it

    Sorry about the pictures
I tried to take them as close as possible but didn't get a really good one

I guess I'll have to wait until her next shed
I will check it regularly to be sure it doesn't get worse
    Thanks for the answers !
