I've had to break down and move all my snakes and their stuff multiple times, into multiple states. I would pack up your cage like you would anything else you consider semi-fragile, and keep your snake in a tub for the time being. During the actual move, I packed my snakes up as if they were being shipped in the mail - snake bags, heat packs, and some insulation (as KMG said, with multiple snakes I usually put heat packs in the bottom of a tub, a blanket down, then the snakes in the individual bags). If you're really paranoid, you could buy packing styrofoam for the insulation, especially depending on how cold it is where you're moving from or to.
I once made a move from Indianapolis to Cincinnati on January 3rd, and it was windy and below zero. I had nine snakes at the time, and I made sure they were packed up tight and that the heat was running high in the car the entire time!
