Hides making BPs agressive?

So, I was looking into "taming" my BP. Unfortunately, Boudreaux and I are both very skittish. Anywho, I came across this video on youtube where an owner was explaining that her bp had agression issues, until two "experts" advised her to remove the hide. Then, no more problems. She elaborates more on this in the video. I have never heard this before, and I'd love to hear what y'all think about this theory.

This doesn't really make sense to me. Hides make the snake feel more safe and when they feel safe, they're less likely to strike.

It's a different story if you're trying to pull them out of their hide to handle. Then, yes, they might get defensive. If you want to "tame" your snake, only handle them at night when they're out of their hides on their own. From my experience, they're a lot grumpier if you forcibly take them out of their hide.

It does kinda makes sense ..... I was told by the breeders of my hatchling Super Dwarf Purple Albino Retic and Dwarf Hypo Burm not to provide hides for them as it can in some instances make 'encourage' them to be a bit defensive . The bloke who sold me my adult Snow Boa said the same thing about the Snow . He doesn't use hides for any of his Boas ... The idea is that it makes them more confident .... It obviously doesn't apply to Royals who apparently spend most of their time down rodent holes in the wild ...

If anyone feels like adding input on this as well ... Boudreaux sometimes feels like he is vibrating when i go to pet him. Like a buzzing feeling. I've heard others talk about it, but what is it!?

Hides make BPs feel safe and secure. I would think this would help with aggression issues.

If you're skittish, that is probably isn't helping. I would think that if it is able to strike and you back off, it will keep doing that since it works.

To avoid taking a bite, you could try using a small hook to lift it out of the enclosure and into your hand. Most will calm down once they are being held. My breeder warned me about how nippy my little guy was, but using this guy's approach (https://youtu.be/f-TjNKrsQEQ) he's actually never struck at me in the three months I've had him, and is a very calm handler now.

Try googling it .... I seem to recall a similar thing happens occasionally when they're on heat mats ....

This is the BP forum; you may want to try posting in a more appropriate python forum other than this one. Balls must have at least one hide in order to feel secure, and if they don't feel secure, they are more likely to strike. As far as the breeds you mentioned, I'm not sure that makes sense, but I'm also not familiar with the breed. I will say it sounds similar to the "feeding in a separate enclosure" argument--not necessary, and sounds like the person may be humanizing the traits of the snake.
