BP Tipping Water Bowl
I've changed water bowls a few times since first setting up my tubs, but no matter what I use they seem to keep tipping the bowls. Right now I'm using crock dishes I got from Reptile Basics, but those tip worse than some of the others I've used before. I've used ceramic cat dishes, heavy glass bowls, and a no-slip bowl (also for cats) but they find a way to tip every one. I use paper towel as substrate and every time a bowl tips I have to remove all of the paper towel, wipe it up, and put new paper down. Last night I had to do that with Circe, and within a few minutes of putting her back she had tipped it again. Any suggestions? I'm planning on getting some bedding soon, though I'm not sure if it'll help or not with the water issue.

Mine does it ALL the tine. I use paper towel. I just change it out.

try using something to weigh the container down, like a rock, i've heard that can work. I use cheap dog bowls that taper out towards the bottom which make it very hard to tip over.

I've had good luck with pvc couplings, also Dog water bowls that are cone shaped and wider on the bottom than the top usually won't tip either.

Re: BP Tipping Water Bowl
It's just a case of getting a heavy and a very wide bottom dish isn't it ??

I've used heavy dishes, and the no-slip dish had a wider bottom as well

Badly worded .. From my side . Ideally one of those slightly tapered ones where the base is wider than the top ... although you say you've tried those . It's not something I've had trouble with tbh

Would a molded fake rock style dish work? Like the ones for beardies or larger reptiles? Or possibly the catch basin for larger live pots, either plastic or clay....

The only other way I can think is to stick the bowl down with a glu-gun but it would somewhat hamper the bowl cleaning ..

You can hot-glue a deli cup to the tub and put another one inside with the water. No problem with the cleaning, you just change the inside one.
