Feeding Prekilled to a BP that eats F/T

I have two BPs - a 670g male and a 1600g female. My female only eats live and I believe has started a fast (she hasn't eaten in 4 weeks and is not very active). I am still offering her rats but she doesn't show any interest. My male has recently converted to F/T - would it be a problem to kill a rat my female refuses and give to the male or should I just stick to giving him F/T?

Imo it depends how aggressive of an eater he is. Was it easy to convert him over to f/t? I have a few snakes that will eat p/k, live and f/t without any problems. If he is a aggressive feeder that was relatively easy to convert to f/t, than p/k should be no problem! I also have what i believe to be a fasting female and everything live she refuses goes to my aggressive f/t eater male and he still takes f/t with no problems at all. If he was trouble converting to f/t i would not risk having to go through that entire converting process again. Goodluck!

Is there a diff between pre-killed and f/t as far as the snake is concerned?

I don't know, but i thought many people when transitioning to F/T they go from live to p/k before going f/t. The p/k seems more "alive" to me.

Makes sense. When I switched from f/t mice to rats, I fed the first rat pup live and then f/t pups after that and had no issues. At this point I'm convinced she would eat a bowl of mac n cheese if I gave it to her. She is a really good eater right now. lol

    Ok that made me LOL.

I had the same luck with my little leopard. Though he did have an issue three weeks ago where he dropped the rat and ignored it for 15 min. I guessed maybe it got too cold, so I took it out and hit it with a hairdryer to warm up again. When I took the tub lid off, he shot out striking like the snakes on the viperkeeper video intro. No joke! When he hit the rat he pulled so hard it left the tip of the tail dangling in the hemostat. Turns out he just needed a bit more room to maneuver. I started taking the hides out before feeding and he hasn't had an issue since.

Yeah mine goes nuts too. She is usually relaxed until she smells rat.
