    Honestly, I would just use paper towels in the mean time. It is a simple, sanitary, and cost effective solution.

    For hides, I use the black polypropylene hide boxes from Reptile Basics. They are cheap and polypropylene is an FDA approved plastic (same material as most tubs). In a pinch, you can use a cardboard box with a hole cut in it.

    For water dishes, I use the 3 cup, semi-rectangular pyrex food storage dishes. They are relatively flat, thick, hold up really well, and are used for human food storage. I try and shy away from most "pet" water dishes as they often say "for pet use only".
