When you want the snake but you can't have the snake...

I've been pining after this Sept 2016 axanthic produced by Peoria Snake Den for literally months. I first saw her at the October Show Me Snakes Reptile and Exotics show, and thought about her on and off since then. This last weekend I saw her again at the most recent show and I haven't been able to stop thinking about her since.

Unfortunately, it's not really feasible space-wise for me to bring home another BP right now (that and the partner won't let me unless I downsize somewhere else in our collection). SIGH.

    (Pic from the October show)

Is she as pretty as I think she is, or am I getting all worked up over nothing? Help, my brain's all in a tizzy and I can't decide if it would be worth giving up some of my other herps

Sounds like you need a new partner.

You need to do what's best for your animals and your relationship, but it's obvious you already know that.

I hear ya there. I need a pied tiger retic and Peruvian BCC but I keep getting denied.

As for giving up something, me personally, I couldn't. Call me weird but I get attached to all my scaly kids and I couldn't imagine getting rid of any of them, even angry Allison although she has mellowed out a ton now and isn't so angry anymore lol.

Well, it's a wise decision you've made that you didn't just buy it and take it home and... surprise! But don't worry, there will be a time when you will have an axanthic.

In no particular order I have these snakes on my bucket list... but no room.

Female (Venezuelan locality) Paraguanera Peninsula Boa (to go with my male)
    Pair of Angolan pythons
Pair of Dominican Red Mountain Boas
    Female 100% dwarf retic
    Male BCC (non-breeder pet)

I need to buy a bigger house.

I need about five more to go with my three. Was (stupidly) window shopping on Kingsnake.com the other day, and came across a lovely bullsnake up for sale. I WANT!!...but, No room!! We are moving next summer, and the place will be much larger. I have visions of eight foot long custom acrylic enclosures, indoor aviaries, several 100+gallon fish tanks....

Have been looking at salamanders lately. They don't need supplemental heat, so if I don't plant the tank, there wouldn't be any plug-ins at all. Most of the cuadata in the hobby are now off limits for interstate sales since the ban last January, but tigers, and the spotted maculosa are still available.

I'll be slowly looking to add like 8-10 more balls to the collection but with how high their costs will be and the potential for producing holdbacks it'll probably take at least a good 5-10 years to get there.

I also really want a brazillian rainbow boa, a pair of true red tail boas, a pair of super dwarf lavender retics, a black and white tegu/savanna monitor and a leopard tortoise but most of those are kinda dreams haha I'm pretty far away from having anywhere near enough room for that many animals let alone having the time to look after them. I definitely want to focus on ball pythons for now and see where it goes from there, maybe I'll end up with a BRB in the next few years... We'll see.

Okay, but you can be the one to tell her that
But yeah, I do, it's just SO HARD to be a responsible adult sometimes
