    A couple things

Hi everyone, I have a few questions, around the beginning of November, the 5th of 6th I believe, is the last time my baby BP ate, and that was only because I had to assist feed him, and I have offered 3 times after that, and he refused to eat every time. His eyes started getting a little cloudy about this time so I thought he was getting ready to start shedding, then he finally started getting a little pink on his stomach just the other day after a month of cloudy eyes, I tried feeding him again a few days ago, but this time I just left the F/T pinky (he always refuses fuzzies and hoppers, had only eaten pinkies for me) and he went and tried eating it, but he got it in his mouth sideways, and as was trying to eat it it broke in half on him, and since that happened, he just went up to the top of the little plant/tree in his enclosure and stayed there for almost 2 days and wouldn't move, well today he went down and now he has just been laying on top of his main hide, and won't move from there. As I stated its been almost a month since he's eaten anything and supposedly started his shed, but his skins starting to get wrinkled a bit, I'm a first time owner so I'm kinda worried.. I know ball pythons go on feeding strikes and can stay on them for a long amount of times, but since he's only 2 months old I'm a little worried now, I try keeping the temp around about high or mid 80s on one side and 80 on the other and humidity around 50-60%, ( he only has ever eaten twice for me since I got him, 2 live Pinky, and he ate the 3rd one a week later, [froze it then thawe] but nothing since then..)

Assist feed should really only be last resort, how long did he skip a meal before you tried that?
Also you probably know this but a pinkie is way too small. You say he only eats pinkies, but apparently he isn't eating pinkies- so you might as well try switching.

    Re: A couple things

I tried the assist feed when he went 3 weeks without eating, only reason as to why is because he was losing a lot of weight, and I plan on going to petco and trying fuzzies again, I might but a frozen one and a live, he never has seemed too interested on frozens, but the one time I fed him live he went nuts over it, which I hoped he wouldn't because live is so much more expensive unless you breed mice, and I don't plan on doing that. I'll try to post a picture on him on my profile, it won't let me post in threads

Let us know how it goes. Unfortunately I don't know much about switching over from live to frozen. Our snek hates frozen, and I always found warming mice up on the stove of my mother-in-laws house awkward. So he gets to be spoiled. But see if he'll take live, since it sounds like right now he needs a little weight. I wouldn't worry about him seeming too excited about live. I'd be more worried if he rejected a nice fat live mouse.
You could try looking around the forums for advice on switching to f/t.
    I wish you luck!

What is the size of your snake and what is your husbandry like? Cage size, are the hides tight? What are your EXACT temps? How (type of thermometer) and where do you measure them, how often have you been handling your snake? How do you offer food? What type of substrate are you using.

    Re: A couple things

I use a 20 gallon tank, I use a heat pad with a dimmer for the heating at about 85 degrees, 79-80 at night. aspen bedding, and his hide he likes the most is extremely tight but the way he always lays in it he almost fills the whole thing. Last I measured him he was just short of 2 feet, he was 22 inches I believe. I use to handle him at least 2 times a week, but have started handling him a lot less now.. I went to the store last week and got F/T Fuzzie, thawed them and heated them up a little, he wouldn't take so I left it overnight and he didn't bother it at all ..

He has been trying to she did think but this has been going on for over a month now, he rubs his nose on his nodes and water bowl as hard as he can it looks like to break the skin loose, but it won't, his eyes aren't as cloudy anymore and he isn't losing color or anything... I looked him over and he doesn't have mites, I'm not sure what's wring with him

Do this to a T https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...-hatchling-101 and I mean to a T and no handling until the animal is a consistent feeder.

If your BP does not eat it means your husbandry is off, temps to low, enclosure no offering proper security etc.

Temps should not fluctuate they should be constant 24/7
