    I would think that a better way would be to use something like a laparascopic camera, like the ones used for surgery that are designed to fit through the smallest incision possible. And sterile lab conditions, etc. I don't know about with ball pythons, but I wouldn't be surprised if something like this has been done with a number of egg-laying species. No idea how you'd find the footage though, beyond searches of Google, Youtube, Vimeo, the usual places.
