I wouldn't worry. A snake is going to know if he can eat the size prey or not. If it is too big, he will try a little bit than then give up or if he does manage to get it part of the way down and realizes its too big, he will spit it up which isn't actually considered a regurgitation as the stomach juice isn't coming up.
With all that said, that is why I tend to feed my snakes on the smaller side. I mean it does no harm to feed them something too small but it can hurt to feed them something too big.
